Staff scheduling
A schedule your team actually checks.
Build the week, publish it once, and let staff see their shifts, ask for time off, and trade shifts from their own phone — no screenshot in the group chat.
Try it — nothing saves, refresh to reset
What you get
Build and publish the week, with time off and shift swaps handled in the app.
Build the week in one view
Add shifts by person and section, post open shifts before anyone is on them, and copy last week's shifts to start from what already worked.
Publish when it's ready
Drafts stay private until you publish. Then Barley shows exactly what was added, moved, or removed, and staff get a schedule update.
Time off and swaps without the back-and-forth
Staff request days off or ask a coworker to take a shift. The coworker answers first, then a manager approves, and the schedule updates for both of them.
Warnings before you publish
Set a weekly hours threshold, minimum rest between shifts, and minimum staff per day. Barley flags a schedule that crosses them, and you decide what to do.
Common questions
Good to know.
Can staff see the schedule on their phone?
Yes. Staff sign in on their own phone to see their upcoming shifts and the published team schedule, and to send time off or swap requests.
Does Barley calculate overtime pay?
No. Barley flags weeks that go over the hours threshold you set so you can adjust the schedule. Pay rules and payroll stay with your payroll provider.
Does scheduling connect to the time clock?
Yes. They're part of the same workspace, so managers see today's planned shifts and who has clocked in side by side.
